day one, week five

Five weeks in and i have finally gotten around to doing my "homework" I thing i better explain first. Five weeks ago i started work at the CatStrand arts venue and one of the things the asked me to do was to keep a regular blog with all my latest work activities. i don't quite understand what sort of thing I am expected to say here but i expect that it should be something graceful and engaging about how the CatStrand is going to change my life. The truth is it will but it doesn't mean that that is entertaining to read so my aim is to make this diary of my work seem more entertaining (are there any suggestions for an entertaining way to write my next blog? please leave a comment) anyway i better start and create my first entry so i may aswell start here...well in a few lines but first, todays theme will be "the small things i noticed."

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the CatStrand there are always the little things that often pop out at you...for example earlier this week i realised that all the other employees were wearing green today...i felt like i had missed something here and the next day i decided to give green a try and see if it helps me fit in...well the next day i go into work, in my lovely green t-shirt, and everyone is wearing the shade of brown that i was wearing the previous day. tomorrow i will go in naked and see what happens on tuesday!!!

Occasionally the printer makes random funny noises...i wonder what makes it do that? does it do some sort of reset or is it thinking "oooo, my inks getting a little low i better make some noises to sort it out" whats even more exciting is when it makes one of these noises people using the computers often get surprised and jump!!!

But amidst all these interesting little things i did actually manage to get some work done this week. i have made a poster for every event until june and i have planned the distribution of these posters although i bet most of them will end up knocking around at the bottom of peoples file labelled "shit" thats ususally well hidden as a pile of paper at the end of the table or on the floor in a corner never to be moved until the day you move house where the only place it really goes is into the bin. and i have made lots of tea...next week i will keep a tally on how many cups i have made. I seem to have done quite a bit of catherines work aswell...hmmmm...maybe leave that to her next week. starting editing film next week aswell, that should be fun.

Bye for now.
